MISSION EDUCATION
Missions
Experiences for Guys in Grades 7-12 Challengers offers opportunities
for young men to grow in
their missions commitment
through regular meetings and shared experiences. They learn
about missions efforts around the
world as they embark on personal missions locally. Missions
becomes a daily lifestyle and an
expression of deep commitment to Christ.
Exploring Missions
The central purpose of Challengers is to explore missions
and become personally involved in
missions. Challengers are encouraged to live their faith
daily, be a positive witness, minister Christ’s
love and give and pray for missions efforts and personnel.
Participants
in Challengers are keenly aware of God’s
redemptive purpose for humanity.
Through learning Bible-based truths, they develop understanding
and appreciation for all peoples of
the world and their need for Christ’s love. They are
also active as an extension of God’s redemptive
plan.
Helping
Others
Youth are at a critical stage in their lives. They want
a venturous cause that will compel
them towards something worthwhile. Some of their
greatest obstacles include looking beyond
themselves, their dreams, and their own interests.
Challengers are taught responsible attitudes and
are urged to develop skills for personal missions
service. As they discover these missions
opportunities and become involved in the lives of
other people, they engage in and discover the joy
of service.
Building
Character
Challengers participants are encouraged toward high
Christian character. They develop
decision-making skills consistent with biblical
standards and ministry-based principles. They also
understand how their faith and commitment to God
relate to all areas of their lives.
Developing
Leaders
Challengers will strengthen the church and its
ministries. They learn about missions by
actually doing missions, exploring biblical principles
for missions, becoming involved in personal
leadership development, and discovering special
relationships through activities and weekly
meetings. These teaching avenues and learning
situations enhance their experiences and missions
involvement. They discover their God-given gifts
and are guided to develop these as tools for
missions service. The Challengers program offers
a balance of missions education and involvement
with special interests and meaningful relationships.
Challengers do not just study missions – they
do missions.
Flexible and Simple
Challengers is the best way to get young men involved in
learning and doing missions. And
because Challengers materials are well-organized and well-designed,
leaders do not need extensive
training or lengthy explanations. The Challengers program
offers materials that are self-directional,
flexible and simple to use.
Challengers
provides an arena for adult leaders and young men to grow
in their relationship
with God, their families, their peers and their church.
It is where missions and ministry meet.
Challengers
is missions education based on a weekly 45-minute meeting
and a monthly
missions and ministry project. It is designed for ease
of use for the adult leader, but is grounded
with depth for the individual who wants to explore God’s
call on his life. Go to www.challengerscentral.com and
